Abstract

The Traces of Shadhiliyya Order in Iran According to Abdussamed Tûdâr’s Book Entitled Nur al-Anvar
Shadhiliyya order started to be known in Iran by means of the efforts and works of Shadhilî sheiks such as Atâullah Iskandari and Najmuddin Isfahani after the 13th century. However, the most serious steps toward its spread in Iran were taken by sheikh Khâlid b. Hasan al-Shadhalî. The activities initiated by Sheikh Khâlid, who is claimed to be Abu’l Hasan al-Shadhalî’s grandson, and centered around Kâkû Zakariyya Village opened the path for the spread of Shadhalî order in the provinces of Iran called Sanandaj and Kirman as well as Iraq. Abdulsamed Tudar’s book entitled Nûru’l Envâr Der Silsile-i Al-i Athar is the only work that tells about the existence of Shadhalî sheikhs who represented the order in Sanandaj region for five centuries. In this article, the spread of the Shadhaliyya order in Iran will be examined and the activities and lives of sheiks, who took change in Shadhalî Lodge in Kâkû Zakariyya village, will be presented in the light of the information provided by Abdussamed Tûdâr.
